What are Skin Tags, Warts & Verrucas?

Skin tags are very common and usually completely harmless but can often be highly visible due to the locations they are most commonly found such as the face and neck, but are also found on the under arm and underneath the breast areas. They are essentially soft lumps of excess tissue that are attached to the skin.

Warts & Verrucas are small lumps on the skin that most people have at some point in their life. They usually go away on their own but may take months or even years, however whilst harmless, they can causing itching, discomfort and often embarrassment due to their visible appearance.

What is Cryotherapy Treatment?

Cryotherapy is a procedure that uses extreme cold to destroy tissue in a process called Cryo-necrosis, which ultimately means tissue destruction by freezing.  The treatment is quick, effective, requires no anaesthesia and the results cause less scarring than other means of lesion removal.  There is minimal downtime post treatment so it is back to life immediately.

Darkening or lightning of the skin may occur temporarily. Both generally last for a few months. The pigment change is more common in darker skin types.

Most small common warts will respond to a single treatment. However, certain types and very deep lesions can be difficult to remove and may require more than one treatment.

There are no limitations on activity except to protect the area from damage or abrasion. Swimming and showering is not a problem, however it is important to wear SPF the day after treatment.
