What is the Masseter?

The masseter muscle is a facial muscle that runs through the rear part of the cheek from the temporal bone to the lower jaw on both sides of the face. It is primarily used to assist the jaw in chewing, however as with any muscle, the more this is used the bigger and stronger it becomes, creating an unwanted sometimes bulbous protrusion on the lower face, uneven symmetry and a large lower facial appearance; which aesthetically can be bothersome to some people as it may increase.

Treatment

Before any treatment is carried out, our Medical Doctors will carry out a full consultation and medical history to ensure there are no reasons why treatment may not be suitable for you and then assess your facial anatomy and discuss the treatment at depth including all the potential risks and side effects of the treatment.

The treatment itself used small amounts of carefully placed Botulinum Toxin into the masseter muscle which can help reduce the strength and size of the muscles, therefore slimming down the lower facial area as a whole as well as the individually protruded masseter muscle istself giving a much more aesthetically pleasing, sculpted appearance.

Treatment time is around 15 min to carry out and has minimal discomfort and our experienced staff will ensure your safety and comfort during the procedure, so you can leave feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.
