Baby Botox

Yes, Baby Botox is essentially the same as normal Botox treatments as both use Botulinum Toxin A. The difference between them is the treatment administration and not the product used. Baby Botox will use few units at smaller doses in order to reduce the facial movement but not entirely stop it.

Baby Botox can be used to soften the appearance of dynamic facial lines, particularly those associated with repeated facial movement.

Common treatment areas include:

• Forehead lines
• Frown lines between the eyebrows
• Crow’s feet around the eyes

Depending on the individual, Botulinum Toxin A can also be used for a number of other aesthetic indications. Your practitioner will assess your facial anatomy and discuss which areas may be suitable during your consultation.

One of the reasons clients choose Baby Botox is to retain a greater degree of natural facial movement so that you can still make facial expressions and this create some lines such as smile lines; however the intensity of which is less therefore giving a slightly softer appearance. The objective is not necessarily to completely stop muscle movement, but to carefully reduce excessive or unwanted movement while maintaining natural expression. The final result will depend on the amount used, the muscles treated and your individual response to treatment.

The effects of Botulinum Toxin A are not immediate. Initial changes may become noticeable within several days, with the final result generally taking up to approximately two weeks to develop.

Individual results vary, and a review may be recommended after treatment to assess and correct any spocking or asymmetry that may have occurred. Individuals with more intense facial lines may be better suited to the standard botox treatment.

Baby Botox typically lasts around 2month, although the duration can vary between individuals. Factors including age, muscle strength, metabolism, the treatment area, the amount used and individual response can also influence how long the effects remain visible.

Most individuals report minimal discomfort during Baby Botox treatment.

At Asthetik London we use extremely fine needles to help minimise any pinching feeling, however Baby Botox is is a very quick treatment the procedure is generally completed in around 5-6 minutes.  Some clients describe the sensation as a brief pinch or sting at the injection site, however certain factors can affect the intensity of the treatment such as tiredness, stress, monthly cycle etc

As with any injectable treatment, there are some low level risks and side effects associated with Baby Botox, however there are often temporary and also expected. These can include temporary redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness as a result of the injections themselves and not the actually Botox used.

Less common complications can include headache as facial muscle which are quite tensed start to relax; infection is rare but any needle through the skin is an entry route for an infection.  At Asthetik London we provide a sterile environment only and use only sterile one time use consumable for every treatment,

Allergic reaction is possible with any product placed into the skin but is very rare; however rare does not mean impossible.  Dr David is also an Emergency Medicine consultant Doctor so you are in extremely safe hands should an allergic reaction occur.

Other side effects are  brow and / or eyelid droop (also known as Ptosis) or asymmetry.  All injection placement is strategically done as per your anatomy.  The most common cause of these side effects are caused by clients not adhering to the treatment aftercare.

Although uncommon, unwanted effects can occur if the product affects surrounding muscles. A detailed consultation and appropriate placement are therefore important in reducing the risk of complications.

Baby Botox is not suitable for everyone.

Suitability will depend on your medical history, facial anatomy, muscle activity, treatment expectations and the areas you wish to treat. Baby Botox can reduce the repetitive muscle movement that contributes to the development and deepening of some expression lines.

However, it should not be considered a guarantee against future wrinkles. The appearance of lines is influenced by many factors, including ageing, genetics, sun exposure, skin quality and lifestyle.
