What is a Downward Smile?

A downward smile is where the Depressor Angular Oris which is a triangular shaped muscle that pulls downwards giving an individual a sad look to the mouth as the corners are downturned.  This can be a result of a number of factors such as strengthening the muscle through repeated facial expressions that require the mouth to pull down.

What can be done?

This area can be treated by the use of both Botulinum Toxin to relax the muscle slightly so the muscle reduces in its ability to pull down giving a natural up turned effect.  This treatment is beneficial to anyone* that has a downturned smile.
